Sweet 16 b-day! Sweet, but not 16??

So Michael completely surprised me this last weekend with this awesome 1965 convertible mustang. Last week I was convinced that he was only helping out a friend 2 different nights and then working late one night. But low and behold, he was getting, fixing, cleaning up my birthday present. Then we went out to eat with some friends, came back to our house and everyone was looking at me funny, when Michael opened the garage and there it was. I was shocked to say the least. What an awesome surprise and birthday present. It has been tons of fun, the weather has been great for driving around and the kids love it.

Hopefully 4th and Final!!

Yap! Morgan got tubes again. Hopefully this will be his last time. We also took him to an allergist Doctor to hopefully do some preventive care. He was actually allergic to quit a few things, even some food allergies. Who knew! So tube surgery went well, he takes anesthetics like a champ and is ready to go about 3 hours later. We started all kinds of nasal sprays, allergy medicines, allergy shots and followed recommendations of having our carpets, air vents, his bedding all cleaned really well. He did say that the dogs shouldn't come in the house, but I'm not sure how I will ever accomplish that. Things seem to be doing a lot better, but only time will tell with those tubes. He has only gone about 6 months before fluid starts to fill up in his ears and were back to him yelling when he talks and not being able to hear us when we talk to him.

It's a Love, Hate feeling! I can't lie

Spring Break? I can not lie, it's a love hate feeling. I love that we don't have to worry about homework, bedtime, driving all over the valley everyday and having to keep to a schedule to get things done. I love that we can stay up late, enjoy the time together and have no obligations to be anywhere. But, I hate, again I can't lie, when I have to entertain my children. Or that they can't seem to get along ( no, my children are not perfect). It's like they don't have enough toys, bikes, scooters, skateboards, balls, or anyone to play with. (Brothers don't can't)
We don't have a family vacations planned for our break, see again I have to entertain, and pay for their enjoyment. I can not stand the whining of "mom there's nothing to do, can I watch TV"? NO! I have made the rule that if they play and get along for a length of time that they can earn time for the TV or electronics. Is that so wrong or mean? Well we have made it thru one week, and lets see what we have done. Went to the park, road our bikes there and many other place this week, went to Target where the boys wanted to spend money they had been saving on toys. Like they needed more. Cameron got to go snow skiing with a friend this week. For the most part we just did hanging around home. The weather has been great for being outside, my other pet peeve. We live in this state for the weather where you can pretty much be outside year round and when my kids want to come inside, it just bugs me. Well I will stop complaining and make the most of our last week together. We are going to go enjoy our favorite place that takes us (me) away from all the worries and boys can be boys....the lake. Well that's about all I have to say about that. Hopefully this week will be better, I'm sure it will now that that I have complained enough and don't want a repeat of last week. To everyone else who is out of school right now, I hope you are enjoying your break. Maybe I will get some new photos to post.

Lovin, the weather!!! Keep it comin

So this whole weekend has been great with all the rain, wind, and snow. My boys loved being out in the rain and wind. They even flew kites! You would think that there was plenty of wind for flying kites, when actually there was to much. The wind was so strong up at the lake that you could lean into. It actually would throw your balance off at times.

This is my favorite, check out the hair. They were literally holding on to each other so they wouldn't blow away.
So just before bed, dad pulls out some DIBS! You would think these boys had never seen ice cream before the way they were devouring them.
So I found the pot of gold right out side and the just down the hill from the barn!!!!!!

Look who's 7

So Morgan turned 7 years old this week. He was so excited to be 7. We play this game in the car that when you get your seat belt on you say double 0 + your age. For example, Cameron would say 0012 and Garrett 0010 and Dallin 004. This way I know we are all in the car and buckled in. Well Morgan thought it would be cool that he was close to being able to say 007, like the movie. Now he officially can. Every other year I plan birthday parties with the kids friends and go somewhere fun that they would like to go. This is the off year! YEAH, for mom! So we went as a family to dinner where the kids love to spin the birthday wheel, pictured below. Morgan won one of the coolest things a soda. The soda isn't your regular soda, you have to open with this special cap, it has a really cool shape and the best part is it has a marble in it. Morgan received the Nerf gun he wanted really bad and a few other things from grandparents and mom and dad. We came back home for ice cream that he requested with magic shell on it. He was thrilled with the way his birthday turned out.

Scout Christmas tree pickup

When you have a scoutmaster, committee chairman, and 4 boys in the family, there is no way of getting out of scouting events. We had a great time yesterday and a great support from our ward. We collected something like $500 dollars in donations, and we were even given a coupon and some enormous lemons(I think they are called something else) as a donation. I think the highlight of the day was the GINORMOUS lemons. I haven't even seen anything like them before either.
Taking a little donut break, while we regroup and start a different area for picking up trees.
Careful Patrick! Daniel telling patrick and Jacob where and how to put the trees on the trailer.
Bishop, YM pres, Scoutmaster and Cameron. Where's the scout shirt Mike?

The area coordinators for picking up the trees, Cindy and myself.

These are the GINORMOUS lemons!!!!

Idaho

Since we were all together in more then 3 or 4 years we thought we would get some photo oppurtunity. Not easy getting 27 people all in one photo to cooperate.
How my parents raised 5 girls, I will never know! My poor dad!!!
Kim, Jennifer, Shelly, me, Jaime not in order of age.

Right to left in order of age Shelly, Jennifer, me, Kim, Jaime. And yes I am the only brunette!! And no I am not adopted, as my sister use to tease me that I was because of my dark hair and tanning ability in the summer when I was young.

All because 2 people fell in love. 5 girls, 5 son-in-laws, 15 grandchildren and 43 years together! Awesome!

Oldest to youngest. Makenzie, Tanner, Cameron, Caden, Garrett, Hannah, Jace, Taylor, Morgan, Kaylee, Dallin, Maecie, Davis, Averee, Olivia.

The boys were very excited to see and play in the snow. They could hardly wait until the next morning after we got there. I realized that Dallin hadn't seen snow before until our trip to Idaho. The other boys have been snow skiing, but Dallin has always been to little to go with us. He was very excited to make a snow angel.

Grandpa didn't have any sleds to go sledding with so they used garbage can lids to go down some hills around the corner here.

Idaho here we come

So Sunday we returned from a wonderful trip to Idaho to visit all my family. We left Tuesday last week and drove straight there, 14 hours. The kids and the weather were great. We saw my parents home they moved into over 3 years ago, my sister Jennifer's new home they built and Kim's home they have done nice remodeling to. One of my favorite things about the trip was seeing all my nieces and nephews and watching them play together with my boys. My oldest niece is almost 16 yrs old and my youngest is also a niece is 7 months old out of 15 grandchildren, and my youngest sister isn't done having kids yet. Of course I also enjoyed having all my sisters there with my parents and just sitting around visiting and playing games. Idaho was a little cold for us California people, it was -13 degrees when we left Sunday morning, OUCH! I felt like I came back to summer weather when I read 50 degrees outside. While we were there we went snowmobiling, thanks to Uncle Dave, bowling, eating, TSR(go-carts), eating, and more games. We really had a great time. It was a great trip I was glad that Michael had made the family decision to take this trip.

Christmas Eve with the Hazelhofer Family

Almost everyone at the dinner table. Some got away before I got there picture.
Everyone having a turn on the world tour.

Michael and Greg, once again trying to hit those notes!

Tight quarters but he didn't care. Either did the dogs.

The chef hard at work.

Dallin's turn.

Didn't get the tongue sticking out on the photo, but did get a serious look.

Hello! A little to into the singing maybe?

the HAZELHOFER BROTHERS! They rock

So Christmas Eve we went to Grandpa and Galen's house. We had dinner with Michael's brother and sister, Uncle Max and his wife, cousin Jill and her family, and Claudia and Russ. Grandpa cooked an excellent prime rib, as always and lots of yummy side dishes. I brought a green salad and a dessert I would rather not talk about because it didn't turn out how it was suppose to.

Before we had dinner the kids couldn't wait to open there present from Grandpa and Galen. As you will see in the pictures, why they couldn't.

We have had a great time with this already, and lots of laughs watching the expressions on every ones faces and how they really get into playing. For example, when Michael and Morgan play they like to stick out there tongue. Garrett and Cameron when they are playing the drums get some serious bouncing going on, trying to remember to hit the base drum. THANKS Grandpa and Galen for the gift!

We did lots of laughing, reflecting back and enjoying one anothers company. One topic of discussion was Greg's wedding next year, and welcoming his fiancee to the family. We were giving him a hard time asking him if she knows what she is getting into joining the Hazelhofer family. Greg says that I have survived, so I can support her and break her in slowly. Anyway we are excited for him and Chelsea. August 1, 2009 is the date of the big day. The boys are excited, Morgan says he wants to be the ring barrier.

Grandpa has 2 dogs Molly and Moe, well Dallin loves dogs. All that night he was playing with them it was so cute. When we were all done eating Dallin asked me if he could get into there kennel with them, I told him no. Well I looked over about 10 minutes later and Cameron had helped him get in. The dogs and Dallin were having a good time.
